This year at the Port Douglas Sports Ground, 41 teams, 9 more than last year, from as far afield as Gordonvale and Atherton have nominated to play in The Douglas Junior Netball Carnival.

This very special annual event on the local sporting calendar has been organised for this coming Sunday 8th August.  There will be 4 divisions playing off for Winners and Runners up trophies and the 10 and under players all receiving participation medals.

First games will begin at 08.30am for 12-16 and under, the 10 and under games begin at 9.20, teams will play off in 2 x 10 minutes halves and scores will be recorded with a win gaining 3 points, draw 2 and loss 1 point.

Douglas Netball have asked us to pass on their sincere thanks to all business's, helpers, parents, scorers and umpires who have kindly donated canteen items, drinks, time and effort in helping to make this event a great success.

This is the major fundraiser for the Junior Netballers and around 400 players are expected along with family and friends to arrive at the Port Douglas Sports Complex this Sunday, there will be a full canteen operating over the day and great raffle prizes to be won, the raffle will be drawn at presentation.
