Where to get your Easter Eggs this weekend

By Roy Weavers

Now, this article is really aimed at the children of our community.  Why, I hear you ask? Well I thought junior members of the family would like to have the invaluable inside information on where and when FREE Easter Eggs are being distributed this weekend.

First off the blocks is Port 'O'Call.  They are offering an Easter 2for1 meal special at The Bistro from Easter weekend through to the 16th April but the important bit is that the kids over this weekend will get a FREE Easter Egg from the Easter Bunny who will be visiting the Bistro as part of the fun-filled weekend activities. Please call the Bistro at Port 'O' Call for full details of both the bunnies appearance times and details of the meal offer.

Meanwhile at Port Village Shopping Centre in Macrossan Street, they are hosting the Easter Bunny Show at 11am on Easter Sunday.  There will be live Entertainment plus 4 x $100 Shopping Vouchers to be won, so Mum and dad could be very happy! But the important part for the little ones is that there will be FREE Easter eggs for everyone.  In fact The Easter Bunny said “Meet me, Cotton Socks, at 11am, Easter Sunday at the Port Village Shopping Centre and join in the fun. I am bringing free Easter Eggs!”.  So there, you heard it first straight from the bunny himself!

On Easter Saturday don't forget that the Port Douglas Surf Club is also hosting two visits from the Easter Bunny at 11.30am and again at 3.00pm.  Boy, that Bunny is going to be tired by the end of this weekend !  This is a great opportunity for Mums and Dads to come down early and let the kids 'loose' in the secure playground adjacent to the Surf Club, while they relax with a cold drink in the Surf Club Bistro. The whole family can then enjoy the visit from the Easter Bunny and have a nice lunch or afternoon snack from the seafood specials that the Surf Club are laying on. The perfect Easter Saturday.

Naturally there are thousands of great value Easter Eggs for purchase from both IGA out at the Habitat and Coles in ther Port village Shopping Centre but there's nothing quite like a 'freebie' from the bunny himself !

Speaking as a lover of all types of Easter eggs, regardless of their source (free or bought), it looks like this Easter is going to be a bumber one for the kids.  And please accept my apologies in advance should any of your children get trampled and squashed in my rush to be first in the queue when the Easter Bunny appears all over town.  I just 'lurve' Easter Eggs!
