Qantas up routes to China, South America and Africa

Qantas has suggested that they will look at additional flights to China, South America and South Africa, as these destinations continue to become dominant source markets.

Qantas executive manager for Australia sales, Steve Limbrick, said the three destinations had been identified as major markets currently under served by flights.

Qantas's primary objective is to stimulate demand for inbound tourists from these destinations to Australia, but once cities are identified it will work with the trade to sell seats originating in Australia.

Qantas is a gold sponsor at the Shanghai World Expo, is active in the FIFA World Cup and recently hosted 35 trade partners from Latin America, Limbrick added.

Editors comments: I'm delighted that Qantas is finally looking to move up a gear to get more people into Australia. Don't forget to look north, let's have some direct routes to Cairns, please, not just to Brisbane
