Muddies have 5 award nominations for CFN Gala Night

The Premiership winning Court House Hotel Port Douglas Mudcrabs B Grade cricketers have nominations in five of the six award categories at the Cairns Far North Cricket association Presentation Night this coming Saturday, April 10th.

The Muddies won both the Minor Premiership for the season as well as taking the Grand Final by a first innings victory against Cairns based, United.

And now the Muddies have a chance to see their seasons Most Valuable Player, Dale 'Drago' Arnell, honoured by the League within the categories of Player of the Year, Highest Batting Aggregate, Top Bowling Aggregate and Best Bowling average.  Muddies Captain and wicketkeeper, Josh McConnell has also been nominated in the best Wicketkeeper category.

This is a fitting tribute to a very good year on the field by the B Grade Muddies in spite all the trials and tribulations they had to face off the field with the Council turning their home ground into Four Mile Beach during the final run-in for the season.

It should also be noted that Daniel Pokai from the Muddies C Grade side came very close to getting a nomination in the Top Five Best bowling average category which confirms how much progress the C Grade team made throughout the season.

Go the Muddies....
