On Monday morning (April 19) the clouds over Port Douglas were in a beautiful Cirrocumulus formation. 

As you can see from the photographs we took at about 7.45am the clouds appear as small, rounded white puffs like fish scales. In fact the small ripples in the cirrocumulus are sometimes referred to as a "mackerel sky." 

The formation isn't particularly a very rare one, but it makes for a gorgeous backdrop as you drive into work or when you're strolling along the beach.
