Chefs confirmed for Carnivale Food Fight
The Carnivale Food Fight and Degustation Under the stars have just confirmed the culinary talent that will be on display over the two evenings during Carnivale 2010.
This 'Who's Who' of Port Douglas restaurants will be battling it out at the Food Fight being held at Sugar Wharf and then demonstrating their culinary genius under the stars in Rex Smeal Park in front of a lucky ticketed audience.
And what a line-up it is !

Harrison's Restaurant Head Chef/Owner - Spencer Patrick and Sous Chef Sam Hiroki
Hi Tide Beach Bistro Bar Head Chef - Thomas Ahsendorf with Sous Chef Phil Seely
Sakinah House Restaurant Head Chef - Anthony Kramer
Salsa Bar and Grill Head Chef / Owner Goran Zonai
2 Fish - Head Chef Tommy Young
The judging panel is comprised of industry-based professionals, including celebrity chef Darren Simpson from Lifestyle Channel and La Sala Restaurant in Sydney and Neil Hargreaves, food stylist from the Age’s Epicurean.
The winner will be chosen using the difficulty factor in preparation, the creative use of a 'mystery' ingredient, the skilled execution of the dish, how it relates to current cuisine trends and of course how good it tastes and looks.
Editors Comments: This all sounds very exciting, Port Douglas must have the best per capita percentage of brilliant chefs to resident population in the world ! Maybe the new tourism campaign should be "There's nowhere like Port Douglas, you can fill up your mind, your imagination and your tummy" What do you think ?
