Second showcase for Tanks Unplugged

On Friday 18th September, the second showcase of Tanks Unplugged, features fantastic local brother-sister duo The McMenamins and Port Douglas band The Hillbilly Goats.

The Hillbilly Goats are an acoustic ensemble based in the Port Douglas Hinterland in Far North Queensland.  Priding themselves on their exciting arrangement of songs from many genres, you can be assured to hear their hillbilly influence emerge on each and every performance. Their motto is to keep the music real and keep the toes tapping.  With bluegrass harmonies, up-tempo rhythms and clever song arrangements, this band engages their audience time and time again and even gets the crowd hooping and hollering through their audience participation numbers! Bluegrass, country, Australiana, Hillbilly, Roots, Folk and Sillybilly are some of the bands favourite and most influential styles on music.

The McMenamins are an independent brother sister duo, delivering original, acoustic music in an intimate storytelling and often foot-stompin’ style. Drawing on folk, alt country, bluegrass and jazz influences, the siblings’ honeyed vocal harmonies and instrumental line-up allows them to create their own unique brand of alternative rockin’ country-folk, which incites an awesome audience reaction time after time!
