Cruise Liner Silver Spirit heading to Australia in 2011

It seems the good news regarding cruise liner arrivals at the Port Douglas Meridien Marina from yesterday is a never ending story.   We now hear that Silversea is planning to bring its new ship, the 540 guest Silver Spirit, to Australia in 2011.  The route has not been confirmed yet but it would seem Far North Queensland is being considered.

The luxury cruise line has yet to release details of its 2010/11 season but the ship is scheduled to arrive in Sydney on March 1 and depart the following day.

The Spirit, will be delivered to Silversea on December 15 and embark on its inaugural 11-day voyage from Barcelona to Lisbon on December 23.

Steve Odell, the company's Asia Pacific Managing Director said the Spirit will grow capacity by 40% in 2010. He predicted strong demand for the vessel.
