VIDEO | Ferry closed and buses cancelled in ongoing rain

The Daintree River Ferry operations will remain ceased until 12.30pm today due to continued river rises following heavy rain in the region.
Council also issued an alert warning parents school buses would not run north of Mossman or to Cooya Beach today.
Port Douglas has seen 180mm of rain in the last 24 hours and the rain station in Whyanbeel has recorded 200mm since 9am on 20 March.
Both the Mossman and Daintree rivers are under flood warnings with minor to moderate flood levels easing between Bairds and Daintree Village.
The Daintree River at Daintree Village is currently at 6.90 metres and falling but the river levels are expected to remain above the moderate flood level during the morning, with small renewed rises possible with forecast rainfall.
Ergon Energy also have deployed a helicopter to locate a an electric fault that has caused a power outage for 97 customers in Daintree Village.
The Mossman River is currently at 5.5 metres, below the moderate flood level however renewed rises are possible with continued rain.
