An Adelaide couple can thank Saturday’s heavy rain for netting them a cool $12,500 after hitting the Iron Bar Jackpot.

Forced to abandon their shopping plans on Macrossan Street, Zophia and Gerry sought shelter in the Iron Bar, a cold beer, an opportunity to talk to the locals and an eye on the poker machines.

And according to Paul Makin, from FAB FM, who identified the lucky couple, it was the Dragon Link machine that caught their attention. And $20 bucks later, and just 23 minutes in the pub, Zophia was $12,500 richer.

“I nearly fainted,” is how Zophia described her feelings to FAB FM. “We’re on holiday and we’ve just made money while we spending it.”

“This will pay for the trip and some. Amazing how the day turned out,” said Gerry.
According to the Iron Bar this is a significant win.
