Port Douglas Builders have recently celebrated the opening of their new office and showroom at the Roundhouse in Craiglie.

Situated on prime real estate fronting onto the Captain Cook Highway, the office means equal partners Mike Clark and Jim Dormer can now walk clients through the design process of their next project step-by-step and handle more administrative work.

British imports Mike and Jim have run Port Douglas Builders for eight years now and claim they’ll ‘build just about anything’, and are responsible for putting up fantastic designs like the iconic Stamp House in Cape Tribulation.

Mike said having an impressive showroom meant that a client’s mind could be put at ease as they were walked through each stage of the design process, no matter how weird the project.

“A client can come in, sit down and we can design the whole project from scratch,” he said.

“They can see it come together, every step of the way.”

The new showroom also hosts the office of Mark Fletcher. whose texture coating business takes care of all the rendering and plastering needs on Port Douglas Builders’ projects.

Mark employs eighteen local workers and is also moving into roof restoration.
