Is the Mirage on the horizon for Palmer?

The Sheraton Mirage Country Club may now be in the sights of Clive Palmer just days after the billionaire businessman closed the deal on Sea Temple Golf and Country Club.

The Newsport has been made aware that Mr Palmer may be in talks with Sheraton Mirage owner David Marriner to take over the Sheraton's Country Club facilities.

However, Sheraton Mirage general manager Lachlan Walker said the rumours were unlikely to be based in fact.

"That's not true, not that I'm aware of. David hasn't discussed that with me," he said.

The Sea Temple Golf and Country Club, including dozens of residential blocks, was bought by Mr Palmer for $7 million in an "unconditional" agreement. Mr Palmer also purchased The Colonial and Robina Woods golf courses on the Gold Coast earlier this year.
