LNP favourite in Cook poll

More than 300 votes have been received on The Newsport’s “Who Will You Vote For?” poll ahead of this Saturday’s state election, with the LNP’s David Kempton leading the Cook electorate poll.

The Newsport readers have indicated Mr Kempton looks likely to oust Jason O’Brien (ALP) from the local seat, Mr Kempton leading the poll with 53% of the votes, while Lachlan Bensted (Australian Party) polls second at around 16%.

Mr O’Brien (ALP), who is vying for this third term in Cook, and George Riley (Greens) are in a neck and neck tussle for equal third, at around 13% each.

Jim Evans (One Nation) has some ground to make up ahead of Saturday’s election, capturing almost 6% of The Newsport poll votes to Thursday.
