Nailbiter sees Jellis triumph

Saturdays’ games were a washout with all men’s competition suspended after only six to eight ends. The threes competitions will resume this Saturday with scores being carried over.

The line-up will be D.Egan, S.Jellis and J.Maxwell to play C.Maxted, C.Andreassen and Keith Pitt. P.Cleary, C.Wills and Ted Pitt will play Kiwi, T.Pisot, and B.Barabas.

In the pairs, Zilly and L.Valentine will play S.Parkes and Colt Pitt.

A grade singles scheduled for Sunday will be P.Cleary vs B.Wolland, J.Maxwell vs R.Gard, T.Brylack vs Doug Pitt and D.Blain vs S.Parkes.

Men’s Results

Sundays’ A grade singles competition between Simon Jellis and Kiwi was a real nail biter with Simon taking out the glory with a win of 24-25.

T.Pisot defeated G.Banks 25-21 and C.Wills defeated N.Tesch 25-19. In the B Grade singles C.Dwyer defeated S.Renton 26-7 and J.Maxwell defeated S.Chatterton 25-6.

Ladies Results

Congratulations to Estelle O’Rourke and Bev Zillfleisch who are the Championship Pairs winners after defeating Sonia Edwards and Kay McDonald.

Two games of social bowls were played with Carmen Bolton and Glenise Sharp defeating Joan Day and Judy Maxwell and Greta Kessler and Carole Maxted defeating Robyn Petrus and Jenni Avis. Robyn Petrus was also the raffle winner.

Championship Fours starts Thursday 1 March with Val Robinson, Janice Brlyack, Zina Girgenti and Robyn Petrus playing Bev Zillfleisch, Carmen Bolton, Margaret Cooper and Maree Crees. Jan Gard’s team has the bye.
